James Stokes & Co. is a luxury editorial wedding photography studio based in Wisconsin. Led by husband-and-wife team James and Katie Stokes, we bring over fifteen years of experience and a documentary-first, editorially-refined approach to weddings at one of Northern Wisconsin's most singular venues.
Rondele Ranch is not a venue. It's a destination. Spread across 700 acres of private Northwoods land in Harshaw, Wisconsin — between Rhinelander, Tomahawk, and Minocqua — the Ranch offers eleven luxury vacation properties, an on-site white chapel, formal gardens, a working lake, multiple ceremony sites, and a level of weekend-long privacy that few Midwest venues can match.

A weekend-long story across an entire estate
Rondele isn't one venue with a backup space. It's a working ranch with multiple ceremony locations, climate-controlled reception areas, and eleven luxury vacation homes. Every wedding day looks different. We've photographed enough of them to know where the light works at every hour.
Prime lenses. Natural light. Your real story.
We shoot exclusively with prime lenses — 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm. The compression and rendering of a prime lens is what gives wedding portraits their weight and warmth. At a venue like Rondele, where the Northwoods landscape is itself a character in the day, we keep you at the center of every frame.
Our coverage is documentary first — we capture the day as it actually unfolds — with guided portrait sessions woven in at the moments that serve the light and the schedule best. You work directly with James and Katie from inquiry through delivery. No sales team, no hand-offs.
A wedding weekend, not a ten-hour event
Rondele couples typically book the property for a full weekend. Family arrives Friday. The rehearsal dinner is at Raegan's Event Center. Saturday is the wedding. Sunday brunch happens lakeside before guests head home. We photograph the way the weekend actually unfolds — not just the eight hours between hair-and-makeup and last dance.
