As Rachel elegantly walked the aisle of the Nelsonville Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was holding a bouquet with a locket wrapped around it. The locket actually has photos of her grandparents inside it. For those who knew Rachel very well, her grandparents have a very special place in her heart. Travis, looking lovestruck, was glued to watching Rachel as she walked. The connection between these two, who met way back in college, is truly undeniable. After their dating stage, Travis finally went down on his knees and proposed to Rachel while they were at a sunflower field.
The wedding theme was simple as the couple chose to go with classic and neutral colors. Rachel made sure that she has her personal touch and basically envisioned the overall look of the wedding. Big thanks to the family’s team effort, the DIY woodwork looked amazing! Rachel’s sister, who happens to have some background in college as a florist, was the overall designer for the floral arrangements. This made this wedding even more intimate and special.
The groom together with his groomsmen was wearing their black and white tuxedos from Du Bois Formalwear. The beautiful bridesmaids are dressed in light brown gowns from Kennedy Blue which added more touch to the wedding’s reception theme.
The wedding reception was at The Rising Star Mill, a Nelsonville Mill considered as one of the oldest Wisconsin mills. Another interesting thing to note is that this kind of place is the last one you can find in Portage County. The place has a rustic charm with its tall ceilings and homey ambiance perfect for a romantic wedding reception. Apart from the wooden and rustic touch of the place, Rachel visited this plenty of times when she was growing up. The history which goes with this place makes Rachel and Travis’s wedding even more eventful.
At the wedding reception, their 130 guests can select drinks which were served for almost two hours. While waiting for dinner, the guests enjoyed some yard games around the mill. There were also those who posed for some photo opts by the river area.
A nice honeymoon after their successful wedding was the perfect way to cap off their celebration. The couple planned to visit the huge islands of Hawaii. They sure would have enjoyed themselves in the cool waters of Maui and Oahu.
